Mosgiel Brass, formed in 1872 as the East Taieri Brass Band, is one of the longest continuously running brass bands in New Zealand. We are a C-grade band with approximately 40 current members. Our members are of all ages, abilities and occupations. The band is a regular participant in competitions regionally and nationally, which gives the players an opportunity to travel and develop our musical abilities.
The band is also a regular participant in community events and parades in Mosgiel and Dunedin. Some notable events include the annual Dunedin Santa Parade, The Midwinter Carnival, Sunday Sounds at the Botanical Gardens and ANZAC services in Mosgiel.
Rehearsals
The band practices every Tuesday night at 7.00 – 8.30pm
